Fly Costa Rica-Amsterdam Direct on KLM’s Dreamliner Jet
The service will operate Tuesdays and Fridays as of October 31, and then additionally on Sundays starting at the end of January 2018, announced the airline.
The new craft consumes 20 percent less fuel that the airline’s other jets, generates 40 percent less noise and emits 20 percent less CO2, which brings the company closer to the goal of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent by 2020 over 2011.
The Dreamliner’s 294 passengers can fly from Amsterdam (Schiphol terminal) at 3:25 p.m. on the days the service is offered, and arrive at Costa Rica’s main Juan Santamaría International (SJO) airport the same day at 8:05 p.m.
Flights to Amsterdam will depart from SJO at 10:05 p.m., arriving at Schiphol at 3:10 p.m. the following day. On other days, flights are available to Amsterdam from Costa Ricans via Panama also on KLM. This direct service is the seventh such connection between Costa Rica and Europe.
