Three New Airlines to Fly to Costa Rica Starting This Holiday Season

Airlines such as United, American Airlines, Delta and Iberia have been flying into the country for quite a while. Others like Southwest Airlines have started flying into the country just recently, but it looks like the flight options are never enough for the enthusiast visitors coming into the country.

In early November, three airlines have started operating new flights from the United States and England to Costa Rica. Flights will come to both international airports available in the country, Juan Santamaria in San José (SJO) and Daniel Oduber in Liberia (LIR). The newcomers are Alaska Airlines and Thomson Airways. Also, Southwest Airlines has announced new routes from and to Costa Rica.

According to information from ICT (Costa Rican Tourism Board), Alaska Airlines will flight from Los Angeles, CA, to San Jose and Liberia (Guanacaste). Both routes will have flights 4 times per week.

Southwest Airlines, will start operating a new route from Houston to Liberia on a daily basis with a capacity to transport 143 passengers. The airline known for low-cost flights will also open up a weekly route from Baltimore to Liberia. This route will be available for 143 passengers every Saturday.

Thomson Airways, a British charter airline, will open up a route from Gatwick (England) to Liberia (Guanacaste) on a weekly basis with an aircraft which has capacity for 291 passengers. This will be the first time a British airway flights directly to Costa Rica.
